description Potowatomi Campground: CLOSED FOR 2016 SEASON - Our Class-A Premium campground is located in the main park with shower facilities, flush toilets, and all sites have electricity. Water is available by pump at designated locations throughout the campground and at the sanitary dump station. This is a very wooded area with 4 loops-Oak, Hawthorne, Osage & Hickory. Pit toilets are also located near each loop. Alcohol is prohibited and credit cards are not accepted at the site. GPS Coordinates: 41.18930 -87.96270 Chippewa Campground: CLOSED FOR 2016 SEASON - Located east of the main park entrance on IL Rt. 102, this campground offers Class B/E Premium & Class C sites. This campground has NO shower facilities but has water available by pump, block privies, as well as a sanitary dump station. Alcohol is prohibited and credit cards are not accepted at this site. GPS Coordinates: 41.21427 -88.02375 Group Campground at Davis Creek: Our group campground, located at the Davis Creek area is for a group of 10 or more members of an organized group , such as scouts, church groups, ROTC. One responsible adult (age 18 years or older) must accompany each group of 15 or fewer campers under the age of 18. This campground has no showers or electricity and has block privies. Only tent-camping is allowed in this area, no RV's. All vehicles must remain in the parking lot and are not permitted to enter the campsites. importantInformation Camping fees are refundable if cancellation notification is received no later than 3 days prior to arrival. For specific park information or questions regarding your reservation, please call the Park Office at 815-933-1383 Shelter Reservations are non-refundable unless the area is closed by the Department, in this circumstance the Site Manager will contact you prior to your reservation date to cancel and issue your refund. Amplified music or loud music is not allowed. Bounce houses are not allowed. Groups of 25 or more are required to obtain a free Activity Permit in advance from the Park Office.A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) from the camping party must register for the party and thereby acknowledge compliance with the rules and regulations of the park for the party. ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED. SWIMMING IS NOT ALLOWED . For a campsite, no more than two tents will be allowed. A family group of one or both parents and their children may all occupy one site, as long as no more than four adults occupy one site. In a non-family group, only four people may occupy one site whether they are adults or minors. Two vehicles are allowed per campsite. Vehicles must be parked on the pad, not on the road or in the grass. Sites may not be saved for other parties who are not present. Special camping rate reductions apply to Illinois residents only. Campers must check in and have their campsite established no later than 9:00 pm. Check out time is 3:00 pm and all visitors must leave the campground by 10:00 pm. Dump Station: All sanitary waste, including that from sink drains, are to be put in sanitary dump station or other designated place. There is a $5 fee to dump for all non registered campers. Camping Reservations: Campers may not switch sites without prior approval. Cabins: Pets are not permitted in or at cabin site. No smoking inside cabin. Check out is 1 pm. Cabin consists of: two rooms, which accommodates a max. of 6 people, twin bunk beds and double bed with vinyl mattress covers (you must provide all necessary sheets, pillows, linens, etc); electric on site, along with ceiling fan and electric heater; table and chairs; shower & flush toilets at shower building (no restroom facilities are provided inside cabin); picnic table and cooking/camping grill. No additional structures are allowed at cabin sites. Quiet pets are welcome if they are on a leash, not to exceed 10' and attended to at all times. Pets are not allowed in buildings (cabins/shower house). Pet excrement must be removed from the campsite by the owner. The Department reserves the right to make adjustments in the assignment of sites as necessary. Fees are subject to change. Any camper who violates these rules may have his permit terminated without refund by the site manager.
